CHRISTOPHER MARKUS (1996, MA) and STEPHEN MCFEELY (1996, MA) won the Emmy award for Outstanding Writing for a Movie or Miniseries for the "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers", which they wrote for HBO Films. They recently adapated C.S. Lewis' "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" into a screenplay for Disney.

JODI ANGEL (2003, MA) had her first story collection, The History of Vegas, published by Chronicle Books. Her story "Portions" appears in the Summer 2005 issue of Zoetrope: All-Story She currently teaches at UC Davis and is at work on her second story collection.

VIRGINIA ROBINSON (2004, MA) had her first chapbook, Carrier, published by Swan Scythe Press. She teaches English at Francis Parker School in San Diego.

KIRSTEN SUNDBERG LUNSTRUM (2003, MA) had her story collection, This Life She's Chosen, published by Chronicle Books. The book was featured by Barnes and Nobles in their Discover Great New Writers series. She teaches at Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana.

STEPHAN CLARK (2005, MA) was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Ukraine, where he is affiliated with Kharkiv State University for the 2005-2006 academic year. SPRING WARREN (2002, MA) won the Maurice Prize in Fiction contest for her novel, The Breaks. CHRISTIEN GHOLSON (2003, MA) was chosen as the first runner up for her novel Poisson. Spring is the first recipient of the Maurice Prize, a $5,000 award to be given annually for the five years to the best work of fiction submitted by current students or alumni of the UC Davis Creative Writing Program who have not yet published a book. The prize is made possible by a gift from New York Times best-selling novelist John Lescroart.
